Introducing me…

Authors

My name is Chisomaga Anyanwu; Agah to my dad, Chisom or Aga to my friends, Somaga to my mum and siblings. I was born in Ireland but lived in Nigeria for the most part of my life.

Ireland is a beautiful country especially the outskirts and the West of Ireland. Although the language is not commonly spoken, there is an appreciation and love for it. I am Irish Nigerian, both my parents are Nigerian so I grew up with the Nigerian culture. The people, food, language and values are very important to me. Family is a very important part of my life, I have 5 siblings and more cousins than I can count.

I chose to come to Munich mostly based on LMU’s global reputation. I made my choice based more on the university rather than the country itself but have grown to love Munich and Germany as a whole so much. I’ve gone to different towns and cities in Germany like Eibsee, Cologne, Tegernsee, Berlin and Augsburg which I’ve loved so far.

My Erasmus is for a year, so this is my second semester here in Munich. I’m very happy with having the opportunity to stay for 2 semesters. The winter semester was beautiful, I moved in September so I got to experience both Oktoberfest and Frühlingsfest. I have changed so much since the start of my Erasmus year. I have become much more outgoing and able to adapt more to new environments. Learning and experiencing the German culture has been the highlight of my year so far. I’ve had the chance to make friends with people from different parts of the world as well.

For the next 3 months, I plan to enjoy Munich as much as I can. The weather, the food and everything. I am going to make the most out of my last semester here and have great stories to tell my friends from home. Erasmus has been so special for me and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
