My Munich story, round 2

Back for another round! My first winter semester in Munich was fantastic, and I’m thrilled to be starting my second. For those who don’t know me, I’m Marcos, a 22-year-old spaniard; someone who enjoys a good time and comes from Cullera, a little fishing town 40 minutes south of Valencia. Born and raised in a rural town of 15,000 inhabitants, I’ve got some amazing stories to tell! I love the countryside! Raised in it, I’ve grown up fishing, hunting, collecting flowers, chopping down dry trees, picking oranges and rice, cooking paella, and so on. My town has a bit of everything, and I like that. Back in Spain I studied my first 4 semesters in a renowned university in Madrid, CEU San Pablo, and I’m looking forward to getting the most out of this summer Bavarian experience!
That first semester was filled with some unforgettable moments, like navigating the Christmas markets with newfound friends and the surprisingly fun experience of trying to ice skate (emphasis on trying!). Even the snowy days had their charm! Now, as the weather warms up, I can’t wait to experience a Munich summer – I’ve heard amazing things about the beer gardens in the sunshine! My passions include football (still hoping to catch a Bayern game!), exploring new places (maybe some day trips from Munich this time?), languages (progressing slowly but surely!), reading, and strumming my guitar. I’m looking forward to more of those little moments that make student life special. I’m also still on my Bavarian food adventure and eager to try some lighter, summer dishes. And of course, I’m keen to keep practicing my German with everyone I meet.
This semester, I’m hoping to explore even more of Munich, maybe venture into the Alps for some hiking once the snow clears, and continue to fully engage with university life at LMU. The friendships I started last semester have been amazing, and I’m excited to make even more connections. Overall, I’m feeling really optimistic about this summer semester. Bring on the sunshine, the new experiences, and more great memories in Munich!
