New semester, same me

Dear readers,

Even though some might know me from the winter semester, let me introduce myself once again for our new classmates! My name is Jana, you can also call me Jani, and I was born and raised in Prague, where I typically spend most of the year, but during the summer it is more likely to catch me in the countryside far away from there, where we have a cottage.

Back home I study Communication studies at Charles University in Prague, where I specialize in Media studies and am part of a student association, where I do creative work, research or event management. I decided to extend my stay here in Munich and get familiar with Munich, when the weather is also nice and sunny.

As for my expectations and reality of my first semester here, I can proudly say I was able to meet lots of new people I can call my friends now. I found nice places in and around Munich, grew as a person, got through the winter depressive episode and overall done pretty well on my exams! My simple pleasures haven’t changed, as I still enjoy people watching, quiet mornings, human kindness, fresh mountain air and alone time.

I hope the summer semester treats me even better than the winter one and that I will gain new experiences, friends, enjoy myself and will be able to become good friends with some of you! As for some tips for the new students – It is okay to have FOMO and still not going out, haha!
