Hola Munich, nice to meet you!

Hi everyone! My name is Aitana, but most people call me Aiti. I’m from Madrid, Spain — a city full of energy, color, and life. It will always be my favorite place in the world, but right now I’m calling Munich my home, as I’m spending a few months here on my Erasmus exchange.

Before telling you what brought me to this beautiful German city, let me introduce myself a bit more. I’d describe myself as a cheerful, outgoing, and very active person. I’m definitely a morning person — I love starting my day early, going for a walk, or doing some exercise before classes. I really enjoy being around people and sharing moments with friends and family, who mean the world to me.

Back home, I live in Madrid, where I was born and raised. It’s a vibrant city that never seems to stop moving — full of life, culture, and good energy. I love balancing the fast-paced city life with peaceful moments in the countryside. If I had to name three things I’m passionate about, I’d say: spending time with family and friends on a sunny terrace; enjoying an afternoon shopping and exploring the city and horse riding in the countryside, which always helps me relax and disconnect.

I’m currently studying Journalism and Audiovisual Communication, because I love communicating, sharing stories, and keeping people informed. My friends often say I should become “the weather girl”, and honestly, I wouldn’t mind that!

So, why Germany and why Munich? I wanted to find a place that was calm but full of life — and Munich seemed like the perfect balance. It’s a city where you can study, enjoy nature, and still find something new to do every day. I also studied a bit of German in school, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to practice the language. My goal by the end of Erasmus is simple: to be able to order a beer in German without any fear!

Of course, studying at such a prestigious university was another big motivation. It’s an incredible chance to learn, grow, and experience a new academic environment.

So here I am — a girl from Madrid living her German adventure, discovering a new culture, meeting amazing people, and making memories that will definitely stay with me.
