Taking my first step abroad!

Hej allihopa, I’m Tindra!

I’m a 25 year old from the northern part of Europe. I was born and raised in Stockholm, which is the capital of Sweden. Stockholm is known for its stunning archipelago and historical old town, but also for its world-known artists like ABBA and Avicii, all of whom come from there. While talking about music I want to humbly mention Spotify which also originates from Sweden. And of course I have a soft spot for IKEA and swedish meatballs (worth mentioning is that there are better ones then at IKEA though), which maybe is a bit of a cliché, but it’s true!

This is my first time studying abroad, and I’m happy to do it here in Munich. I chose Munich firstly because of LMU, which is a highly ranked university in Europe. But another part of my decision is because Germany is not too far from Sweden, which made the move feel both exciting and manageable.

I would describe myself as a very social person that likes to try new things. I enjoy being around others and gaining new insights through diverse experiences such as travel or meaningful conversations. Even though I’ve always been fond of and very comfortable in my home town and home country, I recently felt the need to step outside my comfort zone. Munich felt like the perfect place to do that, and I am excited to take this first step in challenging myself.

During this semester in Munich I am excited to meet new people and be exposed to new ideas and perspectives. I look forward to expanding my knowledge in media and communication. Apart from my studies, I am sure this experience will also help me grow as a person.

My main goal with this time abroad is for sure to gather as many beautiful memories as possible, and I will take you with me on the journey!
