A New Chapter in Munich
Germany . Student lifeHi, my name is Thatchaporn Boonying, but people usually call me Neen, a nickname given to me by my parents. I’m from Thailand. Growing up in a big and busy city like Bangkok makes me curious about experiencing a different kind of lifestyle, something relaxed yet still vibrant. I’ve always wanted to explore the world beyond what I’m familiar with, which is why I decided to study abroad. Choosing Munich as my destination feels like the right decision.
I am currently studying communication sciences at LMU. At my home university, Thammasat University, I majored in journalism and mass communication. Studying at LMU has been a unique experience, especially participating in seminar teaching forms as an exchange student, where I can exchange ideas with students from different cultures.
I am also a big fan of Manchester United, one of the most legendary football clubs in England. Because of my interest in both media and football, I worked as a PR manager for my university’s football team and also participated in some matches myself. Watching live football in Germany, especially a Bayern Munich match, is definitely on my bucket list during my time here.

So far, living in Munich has been an amazing experience. I’ve met many new people from different backgrounds, and I truly enjoy every moment of it. One of the things I love most about this city is how it offers so many beautiful public spaces where people can simply slow down and enjoy life. Places like the English Garden make the city feel open and peaceful, even in the middle of urban life. My personal favorite is the Isar River, where I love to walk, sit, and just take everything in.
I’m especially looking forward to summer, when the city feels even more alive. I can’t wait to see people gathering outside, relaxing by the river, having picnics, and truly enjoying their lives. It’s those simple, everyday moments that make Munich feel so special to me. I also hope to travel more, explore new places, and continue creating unforgettable memories during my time here 🙂
