A new chapter: From Prague to Munich

Uncategorized

Hallo an alle!

My name is Annamarie, and I am 20 years old. I come from Prague, the Czech Republic. In my hometown, I study Marketing & PR at the Charles University. If you have never been to Prague, you are definitely missing out on a lot. Prague, also known as the heart of Europe, is a really beautiful place to visit and, most importantly, my favorite place ever. It is known for its rich history, colorful buildings, and friendly atmosphere. You can walk across the famous Charles Bridge, visit Prague Castle, or enjoy the lively Old Town Square. The city is full of cozy cafés (with great coffee), unique places, and fun things to do. Prague is a great mix of old traditions and modern city life, which makes it special for both locals and tourists.

Now let’s move to the present. Why Munich? When I was deciding between all of the destinations I could choose for my semester abroad, I knew I wanted a German-speaking city. I actively spoke German during my high school years because I studied at an international German school. After my graduation, I continued my studies in the Czech language, and therefore my German skills gradually declined. I knew I could not let that happen, so I wanted to throw myself into a German-speaking environment again. I was deciding between Munich, Zürich, and Salzburg, and then my university decided for me. Munich it is. I could not be happier with this choice, and in my past three weeks in this city, I have been enjoying it to the fullest—exploring new places, trying out new cafés, meeting new people, and practicing my German, of course 😉

I am so excited for the upcoming months and to see what Munich has to offer!
