My Favorite Natural Wonderland in Germany
Travel . UncategorizedLast weekend, I took a train to visit my friend, who lives in a lovely town called “Wolferstadt”. Before I went there, my friend told me that there is nothing really special in town but you can be around the nature there. When I finally arrived, it is like what he said, no fancy stores, no tall building, no heavy traffic, and of course, no tourists. However, though it seems to have nothing there, the place actually has everything which maybe not be possessed by other cities, including fresh air, wide grassland, forest, and wild animals!
Beside my friend’s house, there’s a reach of grassland and farms where keep some cows and animals. The forest is just a 5-minute drive from his place. In spring and summer, people could go jogging or even swimming there and go to the small lake for fishing. In fall and winter, it is also a nice place to take a walk and appreciate red maple leaf. When we took a walk in the forest, we actually came across people who went jogging there, and also saw a deer running and fish in the lake.
This place reminds me of a voluntary camp which I joined two years ago in Telgte in Germany. As in Telgte, there are also wide grassland, forest, farms and wild animals. When I was there, all volunteers worked together to build the habitats for animals. We actually lived with animals and slept beside a sheep stable. After work, we went biking or took a walk in the forest there. It is really a nice experience to live with animals and get around the nature, as we had a chance to know how to live peacefully with nature and animals and also know how to live in a healthier way.
Nowadays, with the development of technologies, people seem to pay more attention to the latest news and information with their mobile devices and make their life more anxious, and also, spend less time on an outing to release the pressure. I really appreciate that my friend took me to his hometown, so I could be fully charged by resting and taking a deep breath in the forest. This place is definitely worth visiting and it is also a wonderland for me.
