My dream job is to do mostly nothing but if I have to choose..
Authors . SocietyMy dream job is to do something related in the arts field, without worrying about my finances or stability. Perhaps to be more accurate I would love to be a nepotism baby. There are many things I want to pursue. I want to be an illustrator, a tattoo artist, a writer, and to be very rich. So rich that I don’t have to look at the prices on the menu or receipts. So very rich that I can spend days indulging in my hobbies without a care in the world. If I have to name a career that I aspire to dabble in that would be being a creative director in fashion.
I wasn’t even aware this career path was an option or even a thing, until I got accepted into a fast growing fashion company. There I got to plan concepts for shoots, from the locations to careful shot plans that would be the money shot for the landing page or for the e-commerce catalogue. It was a super cool experience, but I realized what I wanted was more freedom to do things my own way. The pictures being taken have one purpose which is to sell. It is highly commercialized and under rigid constraints. They had a team of professionals to produce the best shots. The experience helped me out a lot in figuring what kind of art director I wanted to be.
I would love to be a creative director for my own brand, and work with other cool brands out there as well. I’m already on my way there on the first part. I personally enjoy creating and telling stories. From the process of deciding what kind of elements would be best to work with. How the idea comes to life from mood board to hands on crafting it. I hope to be able to be successful to a certain extent by that I will define it with brand recognition. To be an established brand. If you’d like to see what I am currently working on you can check out @loveworn.bkk. I had the idea to sell my 2nd hand clothes first and then start selling other things. Plus, I also started a small jewelry business with my sister under the name @lovelorn.bkk, which she nows runs full time and is doing really well.
The visual material for loveworn’s sticker shoots were all done by me with the help of my sister and dad. My sister who I trust with everything especially aesthetics was the photographer, and my dad helped me out with figuring the lighting and set. I love them both so much.
What really got me to stop dragging my feet was when I interned for a small business, with values that doesn’t match mine. I saw rooms for improvement, and mistakes that they’ve done. I use them as an example of what not to do with your own brand. Although loveworn might be small right now I know it will grow with me. My dream is not to be anything grand, but to be able to do what I love without sacrificing my own creativity. I genuinely hope that I can make the dream a reality.
