Introduction Post

Hi! My name is Grace and I’m from Galway in Ireland. Galway is on the west coast of Ireland and in comparison, to Munich it is tiny, but I like how close everything is in the town but I’m enjoying experiencing big city life for the first time in Munich. Galway is known for being the title of the Ed Sheeran song ‘Galway Girl’ and for the arts Festival that takes place every summer. There is always live music, art exhibitions and street performances. My home university is University of Galway, and I study English Literature and Media Studies there. I chose Munich because I studied German in high school so I thought it would be easier to move somewhere where I already had a slight understanding of the language. Also, Munich is a beautiful city and very central in Europe so I thought it would be a good base so that I could take little trips around to the surrounding cities and countries! I have plans to go to Vienna next weekend for a concert and to visit the city for the first time. I am also going up to Berlin at the end of November to visit some of my family and a friend who is living there. I’m here until next July so I’m excited to experience the different weather in Munich and how the media systems are different here in Germany and also the different ways in which they teach English Literature.
