Megan in Munich π©πͺπ
UncategorizedHellooo, Megan here ~~
I’m from Singapore πΈπ¬ where bubble tea stores are everywhere , and it is definitely one of the things I miss most π’. I speak English , Chinese and a little bit of Korean. I love collecting cute toys, figures and everything pink π. I have a pet bunny back home in Singapore and his name is bestie βα’. .α’β

Iβm currently studying International Business at the University of Birmingham. As part of my degree, I have to spend a semester abroad outside both my home country and the UK. At first, it felt like just another university requirement, but somewhere along the way, it started to feel like something much more personal.

My time in the UK changed the way I see life a lot. Being able to travel around Europe and meet people from different backgrounds π made me realise that the way we grow up thinking is not always the only way. Back home, there is often a βrightβ path to follow. We are taught to plan carefully, be efficient, and choose what seems practical. But being abroad showed me that not everyone sees life that way. Some people care more about the journey than the destination, and that really stayed with me.

That was one of the reasons I chose Munich for my exchange π©πͺ. I wanted to keep exploring, keep being challenged, and maybe understand myself a little better through being somewhere unfamiliar. But honestly, coming to Germany was harder than I expected. Settling into life here was not as easy as it was in the UK, and the first two weeks were especially overwhelming. A lot of things did not go the way I imagined, and I had to adjust much more than I thought I would.
Still, I think that is also what makes this experience meaningful π€ It is teaching me to be more open, more adaptable, and less attached to how I thought things were supposed to go. Over the next few months, I hope to learn more about German culture, meet people from all over the world, and travel around Europe πͺπΊβ¨.

More than anything, I hope this exchange helps me to grow and see the world a little differently.
See you around ~
