A small Look into my life – Torjus Mosdøl
AuthorsHi everyone, welcome to a small look into my world. My name is Torjus, but during a previous exchange year many called me Moose. This is a reference to my last name, Mosdøl, and my tall stature combined with poor balance. I´m a Norwegian exchange student and I arrived in Munich early September so I´ve already been up to a few adventures that I will tell more about in future posts.
My story is a little bit different compared to others. I´m mainly in Munich to travel with my brothers, as we are all doing an exchange year together. To get this to work there has been a good deal of hurdles to cross. I am currently on my third semester in my bachelor program which diverts from the usual progress in Norway. And I´m also studying an entirely new field. My major in Norway Is something called Human geography, but here in Germany I´m doing media and communications. This is very exciting and a little bit scary, but I´m looking forward to broaden my perspective and knowledge.
As I mentioned this semester is in many ways a family trip. Me and my two older brothers picked many cities which overlapped with opportunities for everyone, and we picked out of the options we had left. We picked Munich in the end because of its central location in Europe with a lot of cheap travel options based out of here and its proximity to the Alps.
I´m not super fond of hiking myself, but my brothers really enjoy it so we´ve already been on mountain trips in Slovenia and Italy. We wanted to plan based on when the weather allowed for it, so this is something we might not do so much anymore because of wintertime closing in. Luckily there are a lot of other places we want to go that is still nice during the colder weather.
On the topic of this, we are planning on using the Deutschland ticket to its full extent. Both with local trains to visit the nearby cities but also longer weekend trips to cities like Hamburg and Berlin. We have all planned out schedules with this in mind so we all have long weekends to travel around as much as possible.
Personally, I´m really looking forward to Berlin and also watch some FIBA matches. That is basketball for the people that didn´t know. Deep inside I´m also thinking about maybe trying to learn some German. However, if im completely honest with myself I know this won’t happen. Hopefully I can maybe get inspired by someone to take it more seriously, but I wouldn´t hold my breath. With that I´m very excited to tell you more about my previous and future adventures in some later posts. Thank you so much for your attention and I Hope I will see you again soon.
Take Care,
Torjus
