First meeting in Munich

Authors

Hello Stranger, we finally get to establish this parasocial interaction between us.

I am Marco and I grew up in the Milan area. For the past 2 years, I have been a communication and business student in Lugano, Switzerland, which was already quite a change in my estabilished social life.

Being a broke uni student in Switzerland is much worse than being one in Italy, you can get half of anything for double the price somehow. I still cherish those afternoons in middle school, talking to friends over a pizza for lunch was 5 euros. Now I have new friends, but the pizza is 4 times as expensive ; Stranger, does it mean that friendships are like an house mortgage? Incredibly expensive but make you feel safe and protected.

Choosing Munich for an exchange semester was based on my need to learn as much german as possible and the University is high rated.

Bonuses: the city transportation system is very familiar because it resembles the one in Milan, I love beer.

(Stranger, may this become a social interaction over a beer!)

My granfather once told me that life is made by a succession of emotions, my goal in Munich is based on this philosophy. I want to meet new stimulating friends with whom I can share some fond memories and time.

Stranger, I feel like such a way of living it may sound trivial or a bit wimsical, but I assure you it improved my mood many times over the years. Not only that, it incourages me to be someone who can spark some good emotions in someones day and, somehow, I get some joy out of it as well.

In the next future I will have to visit Munich and its’ surrounding, it’s an obligation because I’m going to regret not doing it. I hope that owing my future self to explore and get in touch with places and traditions so different than what I’m used to will give me enough motivation to actually do it and not get caught up by an other routine.

Don’t get me wrong, my sleep schedule has been begging me for a routine for ages, but I can’t give in now! In a year she will be satisfied until I eventually get to retire, or die dreaming of retiring if nothings changes in Europe. So I want to exploit this small time my unchained routine still has to offer me as much as I can emotionally take in.

Our time is done, Stranger, we have to say our final greetings.

I hope our time as strangers is also close to be done, if not, I wish you a good stay in Munich as well, cheers!
