Prost to the Great Memories!
Student life . Travel . UncategorizedBefore heading off to Munich to begin what I would soon find to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life, I was often told: “since you’re going to Munich in the fall that means you will be there for Oktoberfest!”. It made me giggle at how the fact that I was going to Munich to study was completely overshadowed by this well-known event commonly associated with drinking litres of beer.
I was rather excited to see if Oktoberfest would live up to the hype and after going at least four times, I can honestly say it did. Oktoberfest was extremely fun for so many reasons. Firstly, it is one of the coolest, biggest and most celebrated events I have ever been to. Secondly, I got to experience it with lots of new friends from around the world who were equally as excited and curious about the whole thing. Lastly, not only were there games, rides, food, music, and lots of beer but we got to dress up! At first I was hesitant to wear a Dirndl but thankfully changed my mind and decided to embrace it and get the full Oktoberfest experience.
The Oktoberfest atmosphere was one I had never experienced before and I now have such great memories that I get to share with so many others thanks to this event. I can honestly say Oktoberfest was one of the coolest events I have ever been to and that I will likely never drink as much beer again in my life but here’s to all the laughs, drinking and memories, PROST!
