A View of a New World Out of My Windows 10
UncategorizedMy name is Jordan, and I am an American student attending attending LMU-Munich. A small issue with my study abroad adventure so far is that I am not actually in Germany. Due to the wrath of viral, microscopic enemies, I am marooned state-side, and conducting my last semester of undergraduate studies online. Remaining in the U.S. has not been all bad. Since my time zone is 6 hours behind Munich’s, I have gotten to see how morning people live. My day goes from 4 A.M to 5 P.M. This may sound terrible to some people, but I have actually quite liked having the house to myself in the mornings and then walking around my neighborhood as the sun rises. I am trying to take each day as it comes and be grateful for the support I have been shown.
I didn’t pick Munich. It is simply the city my program chose decades ago, but if I had had the choice, I would have picked Munich again. I loved the city when I visited several years ago. It had an unmatched charm, and the Alps were but a beckon call away. If I can see mountains, I am at home.
I am not sure what to expect for this semester. I have already had to shift my expectations many times since classes started, but if this past year has taught me anything, it is that one can only make the best out of whichever situation they find themselves in, and that outlook has been a great comfort. I look forward to getting to know you all!
