Dream job?
Uncategorized“What is your dream job?” seems to be the most asked question when we were young. The answers would probably be mostly doctor, teacher, or scientist. Growing up, it has always been hard for me to answer the question. I guess I just want to be so rich that I don’t have to work.
My answer was once I want to be a doctor. However, I did realize at some point that seeing a lot of blood is definitely not my thing, not to mention how terrible I am in science class. Up until this point, I still have no idea what my dream job is.
To be honest, I chose to study communication because I hate math and it seems to be the field that fits me the most. Luckily, I did learn that there is something I think I am good at during these years in the program. I have been enjoying courses relating to news whether it be news writing or even making podcasts.
Even though I enjoy it, I never really see myself doing it as a job especially in my country where the press freedom is not in a good place.
One thing that I am sure about myself is that a job that requires me to be in an office staring at the computer for the whole day is absolutely not for me or maybe it is just that I don’t want to work.
But I can’t escape the fact I need a job to be able to support myself. Thinking about what I can do as a job based on what I have learned from my major is going to be marketing. It is the thing that allows me to be creative. Most importantly, it is not the tedious job that I hate as there is going to be something different in each campaign. Plus, there is a possibility that I can be out of the office for some time.
Marketing might not be the thing that I like the most but it is what I can do and it looks like the best choice for me as I have experienced it from my internship in an online marketing agency. Anyways, I honestly still need some time to figure out what I want to do after graduation.
Actually, it doesn’t really bother me what job I will be doing in the next few years. What I really want to do is earn enough money to open my own cafe. It is not really a dream job but more like what I see myself doing in the next 10 years.
I love going to cafes. For me, it feels like a really nice place to relax or even work. It is the place where we can chill and spend time with friends while enjoying the drinks, snacks, and the atmosphere.
There is a cafe in my hometown that I keep going back to because of the style and that they serve fantastic donuts. It would be great if I could create a place like that!
