Just a guy with a dream
UncategorizedA simple question where the answer can be drastically varied from person to person. “What is your dream job?” is such a hard question for someone like me because I wanted to do way too many things. The full answer to the question could look something like “I want to be a musician, actor, and a screen writer” which might sounds childish as these jobs are mind-bogglingly difficult to be successful at, but they’re honestly what I wanted to do.
And yes, none of these jobs are directly connected to the communication field. Although it is hard to admit, but if none of these dream worked out I will at least have a job somewhat close to the entertainment industry in which I truly love.
My passion for music started since I was 10 when I was forced by my parents to study with a guitar tutor so I would develop some hobby apart from playing video games, well, the rest is history. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 12 years and have picked up 3 more instruments along the way by my on will. I got into a rock band with my friends during junior high and through out high school , even though I was really nervous the first few time we performed, the feeling I had during those performances were outer-worldly. Seeing the audience, even though they are mostly friends, jumping around and singing with us was incomparable to any type of joy in the world.
I was always a big fan of film and theater production and took several script writing classes for both film and theater during high school and fell in love with them. I also had the chance to write plots for several commercial and have been helping around in film and commercial sets during college which I really do enjoy.
I am the type of person who is basically down to try anything I haven’t try, and acting was one of them. I got in to film and theater acting during college by just pure coincidence because an alumni of my home university picked me, a freshmen with zero experience in acting, to play a small role in a T.V show she produced. A week later, I got a random call from a senior to audition for a role in a theater show which I some how got. Now, I’m obsessed with acting (I now realized that I fell in love with things pretty easily.) I don’t really know how to explain it but it gives similar sensation to performing music on a stage.
I am not exactly certain what I wanted to be yet, if I have to guess, I just like to perform and putting smiles on people faces. Seeing people enjoy what I do is such a pleasure, whether it’s music, acting, or working behind the scenes. I have no idea what’s waiting for me in the next couple of years but I’m sure I will learn to enjoy it just like I always do.
