My Unsured Dream Job
UncategorizedWhen I was a little kid, “dream job” used to be a topic that if the teachers ask me in the class I would definitely answer them with confidence. There are so many answers in my mind like a dentist, air hostess, actress, or chief which changed over time and no one took it too serious because I was just a kid so there was still plenty of time to explore and figure out my dream job.
Until I grew up being a high school student, a dream job has always been a hard topic for me since then because I had to choose my high school major and it often came along with the question “What do you want to study in the university?”, followed by “What is your dream job?”. It became more serious as I had to decide the faculty I wanted to apply which will pave the way for my future career. Although I am already a 3rd year student, I am still not really sure about my dream job and still questioning will it be the same after I graduate.
But for now, I realize that working in the marketing or public relations fields is the most interesting job for me. Due to the fact that I do not prefer to work in the office all day staring at the computer and doing the monotonous work, instead, I want to do a job that allows me to experience variety of work and be able to create new ideas out of the box in which the marketing/pr fields meet my needs.
Before this exchange semester, I have done an internship at Public Relations agency that works for many brands including the food, clothing, beauty product, and technology brands. Even though I am just responsible for a small duty but working there is interesting and fun as I had a chance to create the artwork contents, help with the pr events, and corporate with the influencers.
Each client has different target audiences and give out different tasks, therefore, I experienced various methods that the agency used to achieve the goals. I really enjoy communicating and interacting with people during the internship so I think I can say the public relations job is my dream job for now.
As a student from Communication Arts faculty majored in communication management, I think the knowledge I received from the curriculum will be very beneficial for me if I work in the marketing or pr field.
Moreover, I am currently planning with my friends to make our own clothing brand “Well Done For Today” (WDFTD) in which the concept of the brand will be about self-love and self-empowerment. Imagine seeing people along the streets wear my clothing brands with confident and having many stores in various department stores make me feel really happy. Although the brand is still in the processes and not complete yet, I wish that WDFTD will be successful and well-known in one day.
I also hope that working in the public relations field and owning a clothing brand will provide me enough money that I can use it to travel around the world with my family as well because I am very passionate about traveling:)
