Time to say goodbye
UncategorizedLooking back to the first day here, 4 months seemed to be a pretty long time for me staying in the country that I have never been to before. I have no idea that the time would past this fast as I just realized that I’ll be home next week.
There are lots of great memories here. I have learned many things from this exchange and I really appreciate this opportunity. Living here is so much different from my hometown. I have to do everything by myself from doing groceries to laundry. It felt hard at first but I did manage to get it done and I’m sure that my mom would be proud.
I even got to do a part time job in a Thai restaurant. It was super exhausting to stand and serve for 6 hours straight with no break but I had many great colleges and they made my time there a lot better.
Thanks to my buddy, Lisa, she introduced me to many places such as English Garden and Isar which are my favorites. I really enjoyed spending time in the garden when it was not too hot and I absolutely going to miss it. My favorite memory in munich is when I was celebrating my birthday with my friends at the garden and had a wonderful meal with them.
There are some culture things that I learned like we use knocking the table instead of clapping hands or that people actually drink beers in the park at any time, German beer is really good though.
Talking about my german skill, it doesn’t get that much better but i did learn some vocab during my time working in the restaurant and doing groceries. So most of that would be something like gemüse or erdbeere.
It was also really nice to go to classes and meet real people. I was really nervous to present something in front of everyone for the first time in 2 years as I had been doing it virtually since the second year at my home university. However, I’m happy that everything turns out better than I thought because everyone in the class was so nice.
It is kinda exciting and sad at the same time thinking that I’m going home next week. I just can’t wait to eat thai food. There is a Thai restaurant in munich that is totally great and quite authentic which is Krua Thai. I can’t deny that it was the one that helped me get through these 4 months and I would recommend it if anyone wants to try thai food.
I probably going to miss so many things here. It has been a wonderful 4 months that I will never forget and I would love to come back here again by any chance.
