Living a dream
Authors . Student life . TravelEveryone has one or even more dreams that wants to make come true. I’m living mine, but I have to start from the beginning.
Hi readers, I’m Greta, I’m 20 and I’m from Italy. The Latins used to say “omen nomen” when someone has a name that reflects his/her characteristics or passions. I think that it has happened the same at me. My name, in fact, is really diffused in north countries, such as Germany. Well, the funny fact is that I’m really into German culture, literature, music and costumes. Since I was a little fan girl of Brothers Grimm’s fairytales, I’ve always dreamt about my life experience in Germany, eating a Bretzel on the top of a high building watching to the beautiful view under my feet.
Guess what? since two weeks, I’m walking around englischer Garden, visiting Bavarian cities, eating typical foods and meeting beautiful people from Munich and above the world.
By the way, my story has began in Piacenza, a very small city in Emilia Romagna. During my adolescence I felt in certain occasions out of place, because I realized that it wasn’t my “Zu Hause”. Then I moved to Brixen to attend the university of communication in three languages (Italian, English and of course German :)) and there I spent great times and closed important friendships. In Brixen I found out my very own passions: photography, languages and travels.
I started to attend some photography courses and I bought also lots of analog cameras, which photos I publish on my photos’ instagram profile. Every times I went to some places, I was taking with me one or two of my cameras and I started to photograph whatever I saw.
Here in Munich I’m really inspired and I love to look at the city in the different part of the days. I have now the possibility to get in touch with different open-minded people from different country and share with them my way of thinking.
But the most interesting and beautiful thing of join to an Erasmus program I think is the fact that every single person you meet, leave you a small piece of themselves.
I feel now as I’m in the right place at the right time.
Greta
