Hello / Hallå / Hallo
AuthorsServus! Today marks my first month as a citizen of Munich – and I must say that I enjoy it.
My name is Alma (or as I’ve learned here in Munich – Apple in Hungarian). I’m a 24-year-old ginger girl from Sweden who usually studies Digital Cultures at Lund University. I grew up on the Swedish south coast spending a lot of time by the ocean and in the archipelago, so living this far from the sea is something new for me. But I must say, I don’t miss the windy morning bike rides to school…
Three years ago, I spent the winter season in the Austrian alps. As you may guess, a big passion of mine is skiing. So when it was time for me to decide where to go on my Erasmus semester – the choice was easy. Munich’s combination of city life, the opportunity to improve my German skills, and the closeness to the mountains made Munich the perfect choice for me.
Three of my biggest hobbies are singing, running, and cooking delicious vegan food. Vegan food is something that I’ve gained a lot of experience with here in Munich. I mean, going to a cafe full of cats and vegan food was a whole new experience for me. I’m going to run my first half marathon in May next year, so I’m also looking forward to experiencing Munich through my running shoes. Who knows – maybe the Bavarian air makes me 100 times stronger and I’ll start singing at the same time?
Who knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure – I’m looking forward to what this semester in Munich has to offer!
Until next time! (Don’t miss out on the cat café!!!)
