If I could go back in time…
UncategorizedI was very grateful that I had the opportunity to spend three months in a completely unfamiliar place. In these three months, there are college life, travel, encounter, and separation, and now, it is about to say goodbye…
I still remember that my meeting with LMU was a stroke of fate. When I first filled out the exchange form, I had five options, and I didn’t fill in any European schools. Later, neither my first choice nor my second choice was accepted, so I began to think about whether I should go to a further place. Then the teacher of the school told me that a student gave up the exchange opportunity to go to LMU, and I happened to match the college of LMU, and I also learned German before, so my destiny with Munich began!
At the same time, I also want to say that because of this exchange, I love the major of communication science! I was not originally a student of this major, but since LMU did not have a course that matched my major, I tried the subject of communication science, and I found it very interesting in terms of course design and teaching content. And I will miss everyone I know here! Miriam, who is always there for us, and Julia, who is like a friend to us. Including the different friends I know here, you make up my life here, I am very happy to meet you.
In Munich, the things I do most often are going to the supermarket and cooking. A big reason is that the prices here are really expensive and I can’t afford to eat in restaurants all the time, but it also makes me more involved in local life. The food here is very different from my hometown, so I learned to cook a lot of dishes that I have never tried before. I’ve tried seafood pasta, I’ve tried Angus burgers, I’ve tried cooking my own dumplings, and it’s been really fun. The fruits in Munich are also very delicious. I have more than once lamented how delicious the fruits in the supermarket are. I like the blueberries and cherries here very much.
Another thing that I miss very much is the wine here. I fell in love with aperol spritz after drinking it once. I even bought different ingredients and mixed it at home. I even went to Italy once to get a real aperol spritz after learning that it is Italian in origin. Of course, hugo in Germany is also very tasty, and I highly recommend it!
Other than that, what I like most is the attitude of the people here to life. After traveling to several countries and returning to Munich, I started looking for some quiet places to relax. So I came to Tegernsee, which I will never forget as long as I live. When I sat on a lounge chair by the lake, basking in the sun, holding a chocolate-stuffed croissant in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, I really exclaimed, this is life! During the meal, I shared a table with a German engineer. He warmly introduced me to the food I ate and his dog Sunny. We spoke completely different languages, but we talked freely on this meter-long beer table. He told me he had been to many countries, but few cities were as inclusive as Munich. Any restaurant here, there are vegetarian options, pets can take the subway, and even a restaurant will provide snacks for pets, they like to drink during the day, a liter of wine to drink two bottles is completely small case. That’s how we got to the end of his first drink, so I left, he started his second beer, and welcomed the next table listener.
I don’t know if I will visit this city again after many years, but I will remember that somewhere in the world, there was a place that healed me for three months.
Bye Munich! Bye LMU! Bye the people I meet here!
