Time Flies, But Memories Last Forever!
Authors . Culture . Student life . TravelFrom someone who knows nothing about Germany to someone who has become familiar with this country. I still couldn’t believe it had been four months. It seems like I just got here yesterday in Munich.
While writing this farewell post, it is like a film roll in a memory box slowly playing out a story. Since the very first day arriving here, I have already encountered a problem. My flight got delayed, so I could not pick up the key for my accommodation. No place to stay? Yes, I need to make a hotel reservation straight away for my first night. Got hung up on a phone because I could not speak any German? Yes, but I finally managed to get some help. Go to the supermarket on Sunday and find out everything was closed? Yes, so I have to order food from the delivery app instead. While there have been many challenges along the way, there have also been some positive experiences.
Getting an opportunity to take several courses that were not available in my home university was one of those positive experiences. I got to learn how fashion can be interpreted as a strategic communication tool in the Dress to Impress class, and I also got to learn about the Media Institutions in Munich. One of the things I want to highlight is the fact that I was able to attend the field trip that made me learn so much about the media institutions and how they operate in a professional setting, which was extremely valuable to my future career path. As a communication student, becoming an exchange student at LMU would never be a wrong decision.
Traveling to eight countries over the past four months was another positive experience. Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, and Germany were all the countries I visited. In my first introductory blog, I stated that I wanted to travel to many other counties and explore as many cultures as possible, which I have succeeded. Each country has a different charm, but what I enjoy the most is that I get to experience various cultures. From language to food to people, you won’t know what to expect until you actually get there.
Now, it is time to say goodbye! I would not be able to make these unforgettable memories if I did not have good pals. Thank you to all my friends who I have already known and who I have just met for helping me write this beautiful journey. Thank you Miriam, Julia, and all of my professors, for your wonderful academic assistance. Lastly, thank you Munich and LMU, for making my exchange semester so memorable!
GOODBYE MY SECOND HOME 🙂
