Just like my Vision board – Studying in Munich
AuthorsDear readers,
As a participant of the Professional Communication seminar, I am delighted, but also obligated, to have the opportunity and introduce myself to give you an insight into my personal life and plans for this semester.
Well, hello there, my name is Jana, my friends call me Jani, and I am from the Czech Republic. I was born and raised in Prague, but my family’s roots are from a different part of the country, where I spend a lot of time during summer and feel the most at rest.
In Prague, I am a student at Charles University, where I am majoring in Communication studies with the specialization in Media. As I wanted to go on Erasmus as soon as possible, I just began my third semester of my studies here, in Munich. My choice for Erasmus was simple for me – I always knew I wanted to study abroad somewhere in Germany to better myself in German plus to have a high-quality education. Therefore as I have the incredible opportunity to be here, I want to get the most out of my plans and come back home as a better and more educated version of myself.
In the next three months I would surely like to network inside and outside of my major, find new friends and good hangout spots in Munich, travel around Germany a bit and of course stay sane during the winter months.
To give you also an insight into me as a person, I would describe myself as a talkative and (these days) confident person, but also very sensitive and sometimes reserved. I do not enjoy big crowds of people and commercial music in bars, my great strengths are listening to people and having an eye for aesthetic, which I both surely got from my lovely momma. My simple pleasures surely are people watching, quiet mornings, human kindness, fresh mountain air and a good old alone time.
Thank you for reading my opening column for this fun blog, hehe!
Jana
