Let Everything Flow Through Me: LMU, Our Story Begins
AuthorsHello! I’m Huan Lin, and you can also call me Poppy—it’s easier to remember that way.
I’m from a small island in southern China called Hainan, and I love the cool sea breeze and sweet coconut water there. From that tropical island to LMU, it’s more than just a 16-hour flight. Step by step, with boundless dreams and curiosity, I made my way here. As I moved toward Munich, I felt like the world was also moving toward me.
I love nature, sunny days, and connecting with others… I believe that sincerity is the most important quality for building relationships. You might think I am a little bit introverted, but in fact, I’m quite outgoing and positive. Although it’s a bit hard to admit, my English isn’t very good, so I’m working hard to improve my English communication skills to connect better with everyone. You know, it’s really frustrating when you have so much to say but can’t find the words to express it.
In the past two months, I’ve traveled to many places in Europe—Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, the Netherlands… They are no longer just names in a textbook to me!
During these two months, I’ve attended a freshman party at LMU’s main building (something unimaginable in China TAT), I’ve marveled at my own cooking skills in the kitchen as a complete beginner, I’ve had dinners with my Egyptian and Syrian roommates, and I’ve received help from strangers multiple times in the laundry room… I’ve spent countless sunny days quietly exploring Munich’s streets, colorful houses, and lovely trees.
Just a few days ago, I went to Königssee by myself. Along the way, one phrase kept echoing in my mind: “Let everything flow through me.” Indeed, everything flows through me, leaving traces in my being. Though their presence may be fleeting, the part of me that they changed will always stay with me as I keep moving forward.
Anyway, so nice to see you guys : )
