Marcos’ Adventure: its Beginning
Authors . Culture . Student life . Uncategorized“The greatest adventure is what lies ahead” (JRR Tolkien). I’m no hobbit, yet in matter of months I’ve made a significant travel too. I’m Marcos, but most of my friends call me Quetes. I’m a journalism student from sunny Spain, and I’m beyond excited to be spending the next year in Munich! This exciting travel has always been at the top of my list, since I’ve always been fascinated by different cultures and languages.
I’m a pretty laid-back guy, always up for a good time. Born and raised in a rural town of 15,000 inhabitants an hour south of Valencia, I’ve got some amazing stories to tell! I love the countryside! Raised in it, I’ve grown up fishing, hunting, collecting flowers, chopping down dry trees, picking oranges and rice, and so on. My town, Cullera, has a bit of everything, and I like that. Back in Spain I studied my first 4 semesters in a renowned university in Madrid, and I’m looking forward to getting the most out of this German experience!
I’m really into football, travelling, languages, reading, playing the guitar… I love having those little moments that make my life special. I’m thinking Munich would be the perfect place to explore my passions and make some lasting memories. I’m also a bit of a foodie. Trying out new cuisines is one of my favorite things to do, so I can’t wait to dive into the Bavarian food scene. I’ve heard amazing things about the biergartens and the traditional dishes. And of course, I’m eager to improve my German and practice it with locals.
I’m hoping to make the most of my time in Munich. I want to explore the city, visit the nearby Alps, and ski of course! I’m also really looking forward to the university life at LMU. I’m hoping to meet people from all over the world and make some lifelong friends.
Overall, I’m pretty much feeling optimistic about the year ahead. I know there will be challenges, but I’m ready to embrace them. Munich, here I come!
