My first steps in Munich
UncategorizedMy name is Yousra, I study communication and media and I come from the south of France. What could define me in a few words is the passion I have for music, theater, cinema, nature and animals. I like meeting people too because I find all life journeys enriching and I believe that we learn more from others than from ourselves. My curiosity and my eclecticism continually push me to be interested in different subjects and these studies are a good opportunity to exercise them. I also really like traveling and I can’t wait to discover Germany more fully.
I always wanted to do an Erasmus Exchange and the fact that my brother and my sister did it before me (he in Norway, she in Spain) made me even more want to discover this experience too. So why Germany and especially Munich? Because I learned German when I was at school and have since fallen in love with the country. Until then I had only visited the north but never the south. So studying in Munich was like… killing two birds with one stone!
My first impression of the city is that it’s very different from those in the north and it has a certain charm with many green spaces. When I traveled to Austria, I had the opportunity to discover the culture but also the gastronomy that they have in common with Bavaria and I really liked it. I’m furthermore not used to cold winters so I’ll be happy if I can see snow during this stay!
Although German is not completely unknown to me, I still have difficulties and I hope to be able to improve my level during this semester, as well as that of English. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the media world in Germany better because it seems quite different from that in France. Outside of class, my goal this semester is to visit Bavaria, other regions of the country, meet new people and generally open myself up to the opportunities that come my way. My first steps in Munich will surely take me somewhere!
