Thank you!
Authors . UncategorizedLet’s start off with a poem shall we.
I’m from London.
An average metropolitan city.
Moved to Munich this year.
Changing life’s pace is quite exciting.
Endless things to look forward to daily.
Challenges though exist just can not hinder me.
I will tell you about Munich, such beautiful city.
Living quality here is second to none in the world.
I could easily pack up and visit the rest of Europe.
As the year progress, I’ll explore and you’ll hear from me more.
If you haven’t caught on yet, the first letter of each sentence spell out “I am Cecilia”. Who does this thing anymore? Yeah, I was just really bored.
I honestly cannot believe it’s been more than two months of me being in Munich. Before coming here I had so many doubts, what if I can’t make friends, what if I can’t live on my own, what if I can’t follow lectures?
These silly thoughts have soon vanished from my head as I’m now enjoying a wonderful start to this academic year. I know for a fact I wouldn’t have this experience hadn’t it been for the lovely people I’ve met.
I want to especially thank my group of goofy friends, whom I met through the IUCM Summer Language course, for always making me laugh. Each and everyone of them have created a family for me to rely on, to take care of and vice versa.
Moving on to my flatmates, you all have reassured me about living with other people who have completely different lifestyles to me. You all warmly welcomed me into your close-knitted flat, and are always responsible when needed. Thank you also for bearing with my elementary level German.
I also want to thank the Erasmus Coordinator, Frau Pascale Lacoste, for allowing me to enrol later when I had no health insurance available. And of course Frau Valerie from the TK for convincing Frau Lacoste too!
An extended thank you to all my university lecturers, who have agreed to let me join their class despite being two weeks late into term, or allowing me to contribute in English when German doesn’t work, and generally for the generous support they offer.
Big shoutout to ERASMUS as well! Thank you for providing me with your life saving grant, otherwise I’d surely struggle much more this year.
Finally I’d like to thank myself, for deciding to take on this opportunity just in time for Brexit. Long live the Queen but let’s be real.
Now to a wonderful journey ahead!
