Cecilia is back, this time with an alphabet!
Authors . UncategorizedYou’d think no one is self-absorbed enough to write an alphabet about themselves. Well, you thought wrong.
A for Animals: I love most animals and consider them to be an essential part of my life.
B for British: On paper I technically am a Brit and to some I may even pass as one.
C for Chilies: I love chili peppers, all kinds of them, but my favourite has got to be the Vietnamese Red Pepper. It’s small but really packs a punch, and can add some kick to a boring dish all day!
D for Decisive: I pride myself on my ability to make shotgun decisions. The only (worrying) thing is, it can range anything from what to have for dinner to changing your degree one month before the semester starts.
E for Emotional: If I watch a sad commercial or a tearjerker, you can bet that I will bawl my eyes out.
F for Food: Although there are many beautiful things which start with the letter F, like friends, family, fun, etc, food will forever be my priority.
G for Germany: I lived in Hamburg for two years when I was little, half of my family are German, I love the culture, I love the country, need I say more?
H for Humour: I like to entertain people and since no one has complained so far, I’m assuming I’m pretty humourous.
I for Independent: I like to think that I’m self-sufficient rather than socially awkward.
J for Jackfruit: Jackfruit when dried becomes my favourite snack of all time. Novices be warned, it’s not the nicest smelling fruit!
K for Kindness: From a young age my parents have taught me the philosophy of being kind to others. In other words, Karma is a b****.
L for Laughter: Life is too short to be sad, therefore laugh your way through it!
M for Musicals: Musicals allow you to live out a dream while at the same time jam along to some catchy tunes.
N for Neuheiten: I’m all for trying new things, be it a weird food combination or a freshly approved airline, count me in!
O for Oops: I say this quite often as I’m one of the clumsiest people you can find to ever grace this earth.
P for Phương: This is my Vietnamese first name. In my British passport it’s my middle name, just after Cecilia.
Q for Quite: Fun fact, I use quite quite a lot. (see what I did there)
R for Ryanair: There have been many up and downs with this one (pardon the pun), but every ESN student will know you can’t beat 15% off flights and a free 20kg check-in bag. EasyJet watch out!
S for Shopaholic: I don’t like to call myself this but I acknowledge that I have a problem.
T for Traveling: At the moment this blog post is published, I have traveled to 24 countries: England, Wales, Scottland, Ireland, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Poland, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong + Macau and Tanzania.
(I also have three upcoming trips booked: Croatia, Slovenia and Morocco.)
U for Undergraduate: I’m studying for a Bachelor in German and Journalism at Birkbeck, University of London. At LMU I study Germanistik.
V for Vietnam: The country I was born and grew up in will forever have a place in my heart. I consider Vietnamese my mother tongue, although it’s becoming slightly rusty due to me not speaking it that often.
W for Water: My favourite element. As a child I’d pretend I was Irma from W.I.T.C.H.
A girl can dream.
X for Xxx: In a British context x(s) just means kiss(es). I used to never get the appeal but after using them once it’s becoming quite charming xxx
Y for Year abroad: Did you know I’m on my year abroad? All jokes aside, I think this year abroad has taught me so much about life, myself and what I can aspire to become.
Z for Zeit: My time in Munich so far means so much to me, and I’m enjoying myself every single day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so content, therefore, thank you, Minga <3
