My Best Friends´Life
Student life . TravelBlanca has been my best friend since we were kids. We have been through a lot together and she has always been extremely supportive. She recently visited me in Munich, and I decided to interview her because she is one the brightest people I know. I have asked her some set of personal questions so you can get to know her interesting life. I hope you enjoy her stories as much as I do!
Interviewer: Hello Blanca! I am so grateful you acceded to do this interview for my university project. Could you start by telling me something about yourself?
Blanca: Hi Marta, I am happy to help you! Well… I was born in Vejer, a little village in the South of Spain. I grew up there with my parents and my little sister. However, I went to school in El Puerto de Santa María (also located in the South of Spain). When I finished High School, I moved to Madrid to study Informatics Engineering and I am loving it so far!
I: Wow! Informatics Engineering sounds tough, why did you decide to study it as your major?
B: Hahaha it certainly is! Since I was a kid, I always enjoyed playing around with technological gadgets, and discovering their organization and functioning. Moreover, I always knew I wanted to work in something that did not involve high communication skills. You would be surprised on how shy I am…
I: Really? You do not seem like that at all! And why did you end up studying in Madrid? Did you ever think of studying somewhere else?
B: Not at all! Madrid was always my dream place for studying. Madrid´s Technical University is one the best ones in Spain and offers lots of interesting programs to students. Apart from that, the city is beautiful and has infinite plans to do!
I: I also share that love you have for Madrid… and what are your favorite plans to do within the city?
B: Everything that involves hanging around with my friends! During the weekends, we really enjoy talking long walks and having an aperitif afterwards. We usually go to Casa Dani, a small restaurant located in the center, which has the best Spanish tortilla in the city! I also love going to a market called “El Rastro”, located in Lavapiés. You would get surprised of all the things you can find in there… from a book from First World War to a wedding dress!
I: It is funny that I have been living in Madrid for two years, and have never been to this market. We should go together when I come back! And, speaking of the future… where do you see yourself in ten years?
B: Wow, that is a hard question! In the working field, I would love to be working in the informatics department of one of the major consultant companies, such as EY or Deloitte. And in the personal field, I would love to be happily married and with kids. I had always dreamed of having a big family and really hope I can achieve it some day!
I: I am sure that with effort and enthusiasm you are going to achieve all of your goals! By last, if you had to choose a quote that defined your life´s philosophy, which one would it be?
B: When my sister and I were growing up, my mom would always repeat a quote from Mother Teresa: “It´s not about how much you do, but how much love you put into what you do, that counts”. Since then, this quote has been my “life´s motor”, and whenever I get lost, I remember it to get back in track. Everything is much better when you do it with love…
I: I am also a big fan of Mother Teresa and could not agree more with this quote! That was all Blanca, thank you very much for sharing a part of your life with me and being such as a wonderful interviewee!
B: It was my pleasure, I had a wonderful time!
