Guess who’s back?
Authors . Student lifeNo, it’s not Eminem back again, it’s Hanka. Nice to meet you, new incomers, and nice to talk to you again, old mates! I am a 22 years old communication student from the Czech republic. At my home university in Prague I specialize in Marketing. I like (copy)writing, so thank you for this task, Miriam! What else do I like? Dancing, singing, meeting friends over a cup of coffee, occasional yoga and some culture every now and then. On top of that I love nature, mountains, sunsets, comedies and late night talks.
This is my second, originally not planned at all, semester in Munich. Somehow (we’ll get to that later) I realized that just one wouldn’t be enough for me. So here I am. Ready to explore what has been hiding from me so far. In my first post on this blog I hoped for lot of unforgettable memories and I’m so grateful that I already have so many. However silly it may sound I’m really having the time of my life here. I came here depressed, anxious, heart-broken and very dependent. Honestly I didn’t even know how to do my laundry properly. But now I’m quite confident, I can take care of myself and I’m healing.
I’m gonna share one personal story here, because I think that it’s kinda funny. Some of you who read the first article maybe remember that I made a cheesy joke about how I’m single and ready to mingle. Well, ready or not, I met a great guy here, who made me believe in faith. Munich wasn’t exactly the destination I’d been dreaming about, it was actually just an easy alternative option that would have been very convenient for keeping my last relationship alive. Prague is only 5 hours away in the end. But life has sometimes different plans for us, right? Who knows what the next chapter is about. For now I’m happy!
I believe that Erasmus can bring so many different things to different people. I was thinking what Munich-musts should I recommend you, my new classmates, but I came to the conclusion that the best way is to discover it yourself. There’s everything for each taste, culture, nature, just dive into the city without expectations and you’ll be surprised, like I was in the end. No matter if it’s gonna be adventure, experience, knowledge, confidence, friendships or even love, it will enrich you for the rest of your life, I’m sure. And if it’s your first time in Europe in general, go to its very heart. Prague, my beloved home, is worth visiting any time of the year. Unlike Munich it’s quite hilly and therefore offers the visitors literally hundreds of lovely views. And it’s not an expensive trip at all. Feel free to ask for suggestions personally!
