Lexie meets ChatGPT

My dream job is to be a lawyer, specifically doing something with either the auto industry or finances, and ideally with traveling involved! I think this could be very fun for me and I am taking the steps to get there! 

To become a lawyer in the United States according to ChatGPT, a person must first obtain a bachelor’s degree, with any bachelor’s degree you have the opportunity to go to law school! Then a person must  take the Law School Admission Test. This is a test that tests critical thinking, analytical reasoning skills, and logical reasoning skills. A person score on the LSAT is a huge deciding factor on whether they get in or not. After that a person must actually attend law school, it is usually a three year degree if the student attends full time. In law school you will learn various types of law and develop skills that are necessary to succeed as a real lawyer. When you complete law school, a person earns their  Juris Doctor degree, or JD degree for short. However, after earring a degree a person is not done! They must then study for a bar exam, which varies by state, and tests their knowledge to confirm they have what it takes! 

In December, I will graduate with my bachelors in Communication and I am studying for the LSAT now, which I will take in September. I am not far into the process, but I am getting there! 

ChatGPT said that it is hard to determine exactly the percent of lawyers that travel for work, but it does identify that it is more common in areas like corporate and international law! I find this very reassuring because of the large role I want travel to play in my work! I continued to ask ChatGPT “How many jobs for lawyers are there in the auto industry in the US”, but it responded and said:

This did not give me a very helpful, precise answer again. 

Overall, this experience using ChatGPT was very interesting! It was my first time using it, so I did not know what to expect. The most I have seen of ChatGPT was only on social media with people often giving great hacks and tricks to learn how to better use it. I was slightly surprised that ChatGPT did not have all of the answers like I expected it to. I think that for many things it is a revolutionary, useful tool. However, for what I wanted to know today, it knew only a baseline, so it was not extremely helpful for me! Based on all of the videos about ChatGPT that I have seen, I am assuming that I did not ask the questions in an efficient way, which ultimately resulted in me not receiving the level of thoroughness in my answers that I would have liked to see. After writing this post, I am more interested in how ChatGPT works, as well as interested in how it can simplify my everyday tasks and reduce stress in my life. I do think that I will use ChatGPT again after finally downloading it because I think I could make very interesting use out of it!
