It really is goodbye
Authors . City life . Culture . Excursions . Night life . Student life . TravelI cannot believe that this is really goodbye. In my first post of the semester, I wrote “I told you it was not goodbye yet”, but it truly is now. In my first post of the semester, I talked about my goals to travel to countries like Romania, Croatia, and Portugal. Although I never got the chance to, I was able to go to a couple of really amazing places. For starters, I was able to go home and see family and friends whom I missed dearly. The highlight of that trip was traveling to Boston to find a new apartment for my boyfriend to move to! I then had the chance to go to the Amalfi coast and Sicily. Both trips were girls’ trips and I got to see so much, so it was exciting. Finally, I have two more trips planned to go to Valencia and Marseille! I am so excited, but also so sad to go to Marseille. It is my last trip while living in Munich and will be one of the hardest. It is the first of the goodbyes because I am going with friends I will not see again for a long time. Nonetheless, I am eager and interested to see what the next year brings me.
Enough about travel. It is truly hard to put into words exactly how grateful I am for this year, but I want to talk about my love and appreciation for Munich. Munich has taught me how to be comfortable alone, take risks, and step out of my comfort zone. I have never experienced something so difficult, yet rewarding and fun at the same time. I have made friends that I hope to have forever and I have learned some tough lessons along the way. I have had life throw curveballs at me from every angle.
But enough of talking about the sad things. I think some of my favorite memories from Munich this year are the countless days spent in the English Garden, the concerts I watched from the hill in Olympia Park, the long walks I’ve taken with friends, karaoke nights, all of the festivals, the Christmas Markets, introducing Munich to my friends, the Schokoladencroissants, quality friend time, the museums, the bars and restaurants, and so much more that I cannot name or else this post would go on forever.
I cannot believe that I am writing my last post for all of you amazing readers. I am sad to say it really is goodbye this time. But thank you for reading and thank you Munich for changing my life, I will never forget you.
