Farewell to LMU Munich!
UncategorizedAs I sit down to pen this farewell blog post, a wave of nostalgia and gratitude washes over me. My time studying abroad at LMU has been nothing short of extraordinary. From enriching courses to cultural escapades, each experience has left an indelible mark on my academic journey.
One of the highlights of my stay in Munich was the visits to Alte Pinakothek, a treasure trove of art spanning centuries. Walking through the hallowed halls, I marveled at masterpieces by the likes of Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, and Rubens. The museum became my sanctuary for inspiration, a place where history and creativity converged. Each painting told a story, and I found myself immersed in the brushstrokes of the old masters, a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage.
One unforgettable moment was the interview I had at Andreas Binder Gallery as a part of this course. Engaging with contemporary artists and exploring their creative processes opened my eyes to the art scene in Munich. This experience provided me with a unique perspective on the city’s dynamic cultural landscape, and to be able to do that as a part of my studies is so cool!
No recount of my time in Munich would be complete without mentioning the exhilarating football match I attended in Augsburg. The passion of the fans, the electric atmosphere, and the sheer excitement of the game created memories that will stay with me forever. It was more than just a sporting event; it was a communal celebration, a glimpse into the fervor that unites people across borders. It reminded me of home.
Of course, my academic pursuits were at the core of my time at LMU. The courses challenged me intellectually and broadened my understanding of the field of communication. The professors, with their expertise and dedication, fostered an environment where curiosity thrived. From my own reading to collaborative projects, the classroom became a space for intellectual exploration and growth and being surrounded with classmates from all over the world is so cool.
The numerous study trips organized in this course were a revelation. Engaging with local professionals at the Süddeutze Zeitung and BR enriched my understanding of German culture and society. Each excursion was a bridge between theory and practice, transforming classroom concepts into tangible experiences.
I would be remiss not to express my gratitude to my fellow classmates. The international mix of students brought diverse perspectives into every discussion. In the global classroom, we shared not only academic insights but also the nuances of our respective cultures.
As I bid farewell to LMU and the charming city of Munich, I carry with me a suitcase full of memories, experiences, and newfound knowledge. The city’s blend of tradition and modernity has left an indelible mark on my academic and personal growth. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the professors, staff, and fellow students who made this semester an unforgettable chapter in my educational journey. If you ever visit Stockholm, please let me know! I will gladly give you a guided tour of my hometown.
As I embark on the next chapter of my academic pursuits, I leave Munich with a sense of gratitude, a heart full of memories, and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of international education. Auf Wiedersehen, Munich!
