All The Way From Bangkok to Munich

Authors

Hallo Leute! I’m Night, and yes.. that’s really my name. It’s a Thai nickname, so it might sound a little random, especially if you’re not from Thailand. However, I think it describes me as a person quite well, being calm, night owl, not a morning person, but still full of life at the same time.

I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, a very vibrant city that never seems to sleep. For me, Bangkok is a chaotic, diverse, and charming city. There’s always something going on 24/7. Growing up there taught me how to adapt to a fast-paced lifestyle and appreciate the beauty of diversity in every aspect of life.

Currently, I’m a 3rd year student, majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication back in my home university. We speak Thai in Thailand and Thai is my native language. However, I’ve learnt English since a young age as I was studying in Singapore during middle school and it has been a huge part of my academic life since then. And now I’m also learning a bit of German which honestly is quite a challenging language to learn but I’ll give it a try anyway.

About the reason why I chose Munich??

When I started doing my research about the city, Munich felt like the perfect mix for me in terms of culture, diversity, and beautifully balanced between city life and nature. Of course, it’s definitely not as busy as Bangkok, but it still has this vibrant energy that keeps you alive. Living in Munich for a while now also made me realize that this is a good break from the hectic Bangkok lifestyle that I lowkey needed. But beyond that, LMU is one of the renowned universities across Europe, so I knew right away that Munich was my choice.

Spending time here with an open heart and mind is my expectation for myself. I want to make meaningful connections, gain new experiences, and learn not just for academic wise but from all the people I met.

In the next few months, I’m planning to travel around Europe just like every other exchange student here, explore new countries, cultures, and people! I’m so ready and can’t wait to see what this chapter holds for me!

I hope we’ll have the best time here together!
