Through Alps to Munich
UncategorizedHello everyone, I am Riccardo and I turned 25 last 12th of October, six days after arriving in Munich. The lessons and the presentations were yet to come, but I was lucky to share that day with other Erasmus people that I met during the presentation of the department of Media and Communication. Something more about me: I am born in a little town near Venice, and it is surrounded by a good atmosphere and venetian vibes, architecture and Osterie. Venice is very wonderful and ,apart from the main sights, has many special tours (like Casanova tour) and hidden spots that are even better than common places. Furthermore, I recommend to visit the city in autumn/winter and during the week. It will be less crowded. After my diploma I was undecided whether choosing a course in university there so in flew in California for about two semesters to get an English certificate. Afterwards I decided to study my bachelor degree in foreign languages and literature in the university of Trieste, a little pearl in northeastern Italy, with austrian vibes. I have chosen Trieste because it has a good university and I wanted to live on my own.

Here, I studied english and german, which languages I pursued in my master degree in languages and tourism. I have been always longing to live in a german city, to practice my german, also because I like german culture and literature, although I realised now better that putting on a test the german language is pretty tough, but we are here to make the best out of us! it was hard having many german lessons but is going to be better.
My destinations for the Erasmus were many around Germany, but I have chosen Munich especially for the nature that has around and the opportunities that the city offers. I would definitely say that is lively, safe and has a good atmosphere. And I am very fond of that. I really like the fact that there are many students all around the world and sharing background with them is exciting.
Opportunities outside Munich are exciting as well! From little towns, castles, and other big cities. All well connected with trains. One semester here I think is not enough to visit everything here around!
By the time I go back to Italy I want to go to Berlin, Prague and Wien. German railways offers cheap tickets to reach those cities.
So far my favourite spot is the Englischer Garten. The things that have struck me the most here is the respect towards people and that many people prefer using means of transport rather that their own cars.
I am sure that at the end there will be much more to tell and write! See you soon!
